Chile formally proclaimed its independence from Spain on this day in history 1818.

The Utah Territory granted women the right to vote in 1870 only to revoke in in 1887.

The first release of American prisoners of war from the Vietnam war took place in 1973.

The Senate voted to acquit President Clinton in 1999 on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.
