I have a few theories for both sides of the Global Warming debate. Is it really going to be the end of the world? Or is it just another trend in the 4.6 billion year old Earth?
Global Warming is one of the hot topics today. Most people attribute this to greenhouse gasses, and their re-radiation of infra-red waves back to the earth. This is where the path diverges. People tend to blame carbon dioxide as being the major contributor.
Opponents say there are warmign periods during history. It leads to an argument about history, and how this is or isn’t man made.
The major problem we have is: Cattle. Methane is released by these cows into the atmosphere. Methane is another greenhouse gas. Not to mention the carbon dioxide given off in coal to power the slaughterhouse, the gasoline to power the refrigerator trucks, the electricity in the store to keep the meat fresh.
Why don’t people ever think about that?
I also think we might get some very interesting developments if this is a mass extinction. Some new species may arise, others may change. It’d be interesting to see how it works out in the future.
We should take into account all aspects of the problem, not just blame automobiles.
